Acidic cleaning is commonly preferred for the prior to galvanized steel metal parts to remove unwanted oil and grease and to certain extent rust removal. Rust, scale and soot cleaning can be made by acidic type degreasers. It is most suitable to treat steel prior to galvanizing operation to provide further smooth clean active surface for fluxing followed by zinc coating.
However acidic degreasing baths can work at ambient temperatures, it is advantageous to work at higher temperatures to have more efficient degreasing and derusting. We make Acidic degreasing – Hodga De Oil products which include surfactant, emulsifying agents, inhibitors and acids (phosphoric, sulfuric, hydrochloric, hydrofluoric acids). Treating solution has a strong acidic nature, hence bath material must be made of stainless steel or PP. It must be avoided to work too high concentration of chemicals. It has dual action roles doing degreasing cum pickling to further save time and energy further extra pickling time.
Treatment bath can be prepared in the range of 5% – 20% max concentration depending on grease/oil on the metal surface. Treating time can prolong up to 15 minutes to 1 hr while working with variable concentrations at room temperature. Important parameters in acidic degreasing baths are total acid and treating time. Reduce in total acid indicates reduce in concentration, at this point chemical addition is needed. An excessive amount of metal wearing is prevented by using of inhibitors. Inhibitors provide raw metal protection after rust and scale removal and prolong bath life. After treatment with above degreasing chemicals the desired thing to have etched surface for subsequent applications further reduce in time for pickling, and fluxing etc.
HODGA DE-OIL (DEGREASING Cleaner) is an effective acidic degreasing product including acid mixtures, emulgators, inhibitor and surfactants. Suitable for iron and steel. It can work at room temperature, at higher degrees it is more effective. Degreasing and rust removing can be done at the same time. It easily removes the oil, greases, muddy bituminous paint etc from surface of steel without requirement after rinsing tank separately. It is the most suitable product for general structural steel, tube & pipes galvanizing operation. It has no comparison in the market.
